Privacy notice
Written to be read. If anything here is unclear, ask us and we will fix the wording rather than explain it once in an email.
Who is responsible
SIA FqvB, trading as mbranch, registered in Riga, Latvia, is the data controller for this website. Contact: hello@mbranch.lv.
What we collect from this website
- Your cookie choice. Kept in your own browser, not on our servers.
- Anything you send us. The contact form opens your own mail application, so a message reaches us only once you send it yourself. It then sits in our mailbox like any other email.
- Server logs. Our host records requests, including IP address and browser, for security and to keep the site running. These are kept for a short period and are not used to build a profile of you.
- Aggregate page counts, but only if you have switched analytics on.
Why we are allowed to hold it
For enquiries and project correspondence, our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us, and, once you become a client, the performance of our contract with you. For optional cookies, your consent, which you can withdraw at any time on the cookie policy page.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become projects: two years, then deleted.
- Client correspondence and contracts: ten years, because Latvian accounting law requires it.
- Server logs: as short a period as our host allows, typically weeks.
Who else sees it
Our email and hosting providers, as processors, under agreements that restrict what they may do with it. We do not sell data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not pass client information to anyone without asking you first. Where we can choose, we choose providers with servers in the EU.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask for it in a portable form. Write to hello@mbranch.lv and we will answer within a month, usually a great deal sooner.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Latvian Data State Inspectorate, Datu valsts inspekcija, in Riga.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that matters, we will say so on the page rather than quietly updating the date at the bottom.
